I have no idea of what I did for some of the days included in this post (I'm editing this like a month late). Anyway, I'll blog about what I remember...
Monday I probably spent quality time with Mx, then on Tuesday we watched the first Brazilian game on the World Cup. We won, of course, but the fact that I chose such a bad place to watch the game pissed me off a little bit. On Wednesday we might have spent more good time together, then on Thursday I met Zulema right after work to watch the second Mexican game. We went to the Football Factory again, but they wanted to force us to consume, so we went to a different place on the second half. We found this pizza place on Queen St, and that's where we celebrated Mexico's victory over France. After that I solved some stuff at YES, then went home =] Friday is another mystery for now, but probably nothing spectacular happened that day.
Saturday was my last day at Ontario Place (finally), so after ending my shift, I handed over my staff pass and my name tag. I was going to set up my kitchen table with Kevin in the evening, but I had to change my plans. I got the tools with him to do it by myself later, and I quickly went home to shower and change. I cashed some money before going to Rauf's to hang out with him, and we decided to go eat Sushi on Yorkville. We ate the over-priced rice-with-vegetables rolls, and then we parted since Rauf was going to spend time with his Scottish friend. I then took the subway to Lilian's place, where we had a little birthday party for her. David, Eli and his husband, Natalia and her boyfriend and a friend of Natalia were in this little reunion (not to mention Zulema, obviously). We had some fun with random conversation, and all of a sudden we decided to go for karaoke. We walked to Bloor St and got a little room at one of the karaoke places there. We sang terrible songs for more than 2 hours, and by the time we left it was so late that even the night buses were taking forever to come. It took me a looooong time to get home, but once I did, I crashed.
Sunday I did some house chores in the morning, and then went to the store to buy juice and olives so I could take with me to Nate's Place. We planned to watch the second Brazilian game together, so I took the streetcar and met Zulema on the way before stopping at Riverdale Park. We watched the game, which wasn't very entertaining, and after that Aamer dropped by to hang out with us. I had to leave to meet Mx, and we walked around that area enjoying the weather. After a nice promenade we went to No Frills on Parliament St to buy some groceries, and then we went home to cook, eat, and sleep. Monday we spent more time together, and the only thing I remember is that I went to Lansdowne station in the morning to buy my mom and sis' weekly passes.
Tuesday I woke up really early to go get the girls at the airport, and I had no luck with TTC's blue night lines. I took the Queen streetcar to Roncesvales, and from there I had to walk all the way to Bloor. There I got the 300 bus, that didn't go all the way to the airport since Kipling station was already open. I had to transfer to the 192 and after getting off at the wrong terminal and taking the airport train, I finally found my mom and sis. They obviously complained that I am too skinny, but I tried not to be bothered. We took the TTC to my place to drop their luggage there and then we went to Rita's place to talk to them and have some coffee. We visited Jane for a little bit, and then I took my mom and sis to Dufferin Mall to try to unlock their 3G phone. It didn't work, so we went out to eat some Ethiopian food at Lalibela. After that we went to Yonge and Bloor to visit the Wind store, and my sister ended up buying a Nokia to be able to call me all the time. We went back to my place to get the luggage, and we took a taxi to Stephen's since the streets were all wet from the rain. I dropped my mom and sis there, wishing them good luck on trying to communicate with their roomie, and then went back home.
Wednesday I took my mom and sis to Orfus Road and Mx to PMRI (or at least close to PMRI). My mom and sis ended up not buying anything because they spent all their time trying to look for a restaurant that was not East Asian. From there we went to the SOY's Mentorship Program Bowling Night, where we had some fun. We walked on Danforth after that looking for a power plug adaptor, and we finally found it after 10 unsuccessful attempts. Then I took them home and went to my place. Thursday was my graduation day, so I woke up early and met my mom and sis at King Station. We took the TTC to Seneca, and quickly found the messy crowd. I got my weird looking gown, and observed the peculiar organization of the ceremony while waiting for it to start. I didn't know anyone there, except for some familiar East Asian faces that I had seen before. The speeches from Seneca's president and his fellows were interesting at first, but boring for the rest of the day. My sister tried to take pictures with my camera, but the lighting of the room wasn't helping much. We had a little reception after the handing out of the fake diplomas, and I saw David there eating from our food. After staying for a while, we went to the computers to solve some stuff, then we went back downtown to go home.
Friday was the day of the big game... Brazil and Portugal, which would drive the College/Ossington neighbourhood crazy. I woke up and went to my mom's place to pick her and my sis up. We took the TTC to Jane's place, and a little delay on the streetcar made us miss the first minutes of the game. The TV bored the hell out of us since the game ended on 0-0, but even still people from the area decided to party out loud and jam the streets. It took me a long time to get to Yorkdale from there, where I had planned to meet Mx. We ate Teriyaki at the food court and walked around looking for some t-shirts for Mx. After having no success, we sat down to check something on my computer, and while I looked for a Food Basics in the area to buy cheesecake, Mx walked around suspiciously hiding something from me. We left the mall to go to Superstore try to find our so-craved dessert, and from there we went to Highland Farms for the same purpose. We finally bought a small cheesecake and some Kefir, then we went to the G.Ross Park to eat them. While we appreciated the kefir, Mx revealed his secret plan from the mall - he bought me a very nice watch as a graduation gift. We chilled out finishing our delicious treats, and then I had to go back downtown to take my mom and sis home and then go to my place to rest.
Saturday after meeting my mom and sis in the morning we decided to go to the Eaton Centre. My sis wanted to buy a dress to wear on that night for the dinner I had planned at King's Cafe. The dinner was supposed to be on Friday, but due to Minoo's change of plans and Mx's vampire appointment, I decided to make it on Saturday. We went to Sears and my mom and sis spent hours looking for shoes and shades. They bought some, then we stopped at Second Cup to get some drinks before going to The Bay to continue the search. They bought even more shoes, and then we decided to go to H&M to finally buy my sister's dress. We were happy shopping, and my mom and sis were even trying their clothes when we heard an announcement telling us to go to the basement. We all went there, and we were told the Eaton Centre was entering a lock-down procedure due to G20 protests on Dundas Square. Apparently some protesters were going up Yonge street smashing windows and trash cans on their way. We stayed at H&M for quite some time, being treated with granola bars and fruit juices. We decided to leave at some point because we were getting tired. We had to sing some forms, and then we exited to Dundas St, where obviously there was no TTC service. We walked to Dundas and Church, where we ate at Pizza Hut, and then took a cab to my mom's place. We chilled out there, and when I thought it was ok to go home, I left. I knew the streetcar would probably not come its usual way, so I walked to Yonge and King. From there, I saw a crowd protesting at Bay St, so I diverted to Queensquay to avoid the security zone. I walked all the way to Spadina without seeing any sign of TTC service, and then I finally saw some streetcars (obviously not in service). I made a joke to the rider of one car that said King and Roncesvales saying I wished he could take me there, and he ended up telling me to jump on his car =P The nice man took me all the way there since he had no idea of what to do anyway. When I got home, I was so tired I could only think about sleeping.
Sunday I left home without having breakfast because my sis was rushing me. I met her and my mom at their place, and then we took the Parliament Bus to Johnny G so that I could have some brunch. After eating there, we took the TTC to the beaches, where I spent the afternoon taking pictures with my mom and sis. Once we were done with that, we went back downtown and I chilled out with them for a bit before going home. I had to take an alternative route to avoid the problems I had on Saturday, so it took me a long time to get home. Then on Monday my sis rushed me out of bed again, and once I met her and my mom we went to Ginger to have lunch. We then stopped at No Frills to buy some stuff to take to Jane's, and we finally took the TTC to go watch the game against Chile. Brazil won, which qualified us to the quarter-finals, so we went to the streets to celebrate. Mx joined us there, and he finally met my mom and sis. From there we went to Chinatown so that my mom and sis could buy some souvenirs, and they got approximately 5.673 t-shirts with them. Mx and I helped them carry them home, and after that we went to my place to rest.
