Uh uh, green team, green team

So what do we have for the weekly updates this time...?

For the weekend (which included Monday), I went camping with YAY for the second time. It was quite fun, although it rained most of the time. My junior Anthony and I talked a lot about Maple Story, and we feel much more connected now than we were last year. I was part of the Green Team, and fortunately most of the nice people were in my team as well. Once again, the food was awesome, but washing dishes the American way was awful. My team definitely won the olympic competition we held, but they decided to give the merits to another team to avoid accusations of favouritism.

Once back in Toronto, I did laundry and cleaned my place, preparing for Mx's return from BV. I desperately need to buy groceries, since all I have at home is potatoes and chickpeas.

Today I had the funny theatre at my workplace to impress a potential client. Our bosses encouraged us to invite friends and relatives to come to our office for the day and pretend they work here. They wanted to avoid the potential client from thinking we are not a serious company since we have so few employees. I invited a few people, but only Minoo was able to come. I met her at the bus stop, and we went for lunch at a nice and inexpensive Chinese place nearby. We got a ride back, since many of my co-workers went to eat there too, and we started acting when we arrived at the office. The client only came to our area for less than a minute and spent most of the time in the meeting room. Anyway, it was fun to have Minoo for a day at work.

I watched Inception in the evening with her. Excellent movie, with very interesting ideas that make you wonder while you're not busy paying attention to little details. After the movie I went to Mx sister's place to say happy birthday to Sabine, and then went home.

Frenemies

Nothing interesting in the routine for the past few days, so I will not use the boring style. Let's see if it works...

A friend of the Nicest Bibas is in town, and I had the chance to see him and introduce him to my other friends =] Pedro (which is not the anti-omnipresent NB6) came at the end of last month, and although we talked before he landed in Pearson, we only saw each other on my house-warming party. I told him it was a good idea to meet the people from Express, and he enjoyed getting to know David and Zulema. As a result, he came to Express this Tuesday and joined us for our coffee time. Too bad we don't have as many good queers as we had before, but it's still fun. He might come to Zulema's birthday this Friday, and he already bought tickets to see Vampire Weekend with David. Finally we got someone else for the team after such a long recession!

And I'm having an immigration nightmare with my last work permit application -.- After waiting for more than 2 months, they started processing my application and already found a problem with it. Back in the beginning of last summer, I had a tough time getting my study permit - I had to turn the world upside down and even go to the border with the US to get everything done. Because of that, I only got my permit in August, which was way after my start date at Seneca. Apparently, Seneca shouldn't have left me study in the summer, because now they are having trouble with immigration. CIC said they don't issue work permits to people who broke one of their rules, and studying before your study permit is fully processed is one of them. I'm biting my nails while waiting to see what Seneca is going to do about it, because if they help me, I might get my work permit without any more complication. Otherwise I will have to move mountains again to proceed with my immigration marathon.

In the meantime, I keep hell from breaking loose with all the other applications I have to make. Health coverage in Canada is so complicated that I wanna kill Mr. Moore for deceiving me in his documentary. I can only go apply for my OHIP card once I get my work permit, and since I don't know which day they will put as a start date for my coverage, I don't know how much private insurance coverage I should buy. Without either OHIP or private insurance, I can't take any study at PMRI, which means I can't pay my debts yet. Would someone from CIC kindly end this nightmare for me, please? This is not asking too much, is it? =[

Well, until then, I endure.

Cucumbers taste like watermelon

Boring routine. Tuesday after work I went to Express and chatted with my friends, then I met Mx at Finch station to go home. On Wednesday I took Mx to a walk-in clinic, then we went to food basics to buy some groceries.

Thursday Mx went to gym late in the afternoon, so I played some games at home before he arrived. On Friday I met him at Diana's place after work, and we went to Yorkdale mall to do some shopping. Everything was expensive, so we only bought some stuff at H&M. We went back to our neighbourhood, and I decided to eat at Pizza Pizza before going to Food Basics again to buy some more groceries.

Saturday I woke up and went to PMRI for a screening appointment. When I came back, I started getting things ready for my house warming. David was the first to arrive, but not too long before Zulema. She gave me a new coffee machine and a lovely picture of her and Lilian =] Pedro and his friend Felipe (my chara) came later in the afternoon, and we chatted at my balcony for a long time. Nate was the last to show up, and after that people started going home little by little. When Nate left, I cleaned everything in the house and then went to bed.

Sunday, as usual, was laundry day. I knew it was gonna rain, but I tried to dry my stuff outside anyway. My clothes got wet in the nano-second that it took me to bring them in once the drops started to fall. Mx called Janis to see if he was going to Costco that day, and after a positive response, we decided to join him. We went to Diana's place, and from there we went to Costco. I finally bought a lot of stuff that I needed to buy, and Janis was kind enough to give us a ride back home. We tried to dry the clothes outside again, but of course the rain came back. We went to Aoyama Sushi across the street to eat some sushi before Mx had to start fasting, and then we came back home to watch Simpsons and Family Guy until we were tired enough to go to bed.

Today I said goodbye to Mx as he left for a whole week, and now I'm at work editing my blog. I don't know what I will do later on, but probably it won't be anything exciting that is worth putting here later. That finishes this deadly boring post.

We are working hard

It's not working again. What can I do? =[

Anyway, on Wedensday I didn't watch Inception after all. We decided to watch Salt, which wasn't too bad. And I also didn't apply for OHIP >.> I got caught in a heavy rain that let me soaked, and when I got to Service Ontario, I found out I need my new work permit to be able to apply for it.

So I have no idea of what I did for the days included in this post... My memory is indeed getting worse. I know that Monday I went to SHC to finally see my doctor, and he booked some appointments for me to do some other exams. Before going home, I went for Sushi, and since Mx insisted so much, I invited Rauf to eat with me. He joined us, and he had wonderful news since he had just had his last hearing with a positive result. Some other days I probably watched movies with Mx at home, and that caused my landlord to complain about internet usage -.- Well, I guess I'll finish this post short as it is.

Feliploko, whose fun is underneath.

Chill Out

Image Placeholder
Oops, something went wrong and I have to correct it with a big post now =P Pardon, pardon.

Wednesday after work I took the Steeles bus to Seneca College, where I had planned to meet Minoo. I finally payed her back what I owed her, but I made a new debt because I forgot to get the money for the metropasses she bought for me and Mx. I helped her with her INT4 project, and we chatted a bit to update each other on what's going on. I left when it was already dark, so all I could do was go home and sleep.

Thursday I had an appointment with a nurse at SHC to check my stomach problems. I left work early and took the 139 rocket at Finch, which made me get downtown much before I expected. I then decided to go to Alex for a haircut, and I found him in the middle of the moving process. After that I went to Sherbourne, talked with the nurse, and scheduled an appointment with my family doctor to find out what's really going on. Finally, I went home to rest.

Friday was the day Mx was coming out of PMRI, so I went to his place after work to take care of him. We chilled out a bit before we had to leave for his return blood draw. We took the TTC, and we made it just in time. After that, we both went to my place to sleep and get ready for the next day: the moving day.

Saturday we woke up early for yet another return blood draw. After leaving PMRI, we went to Yonge and Eglinton to try to pay something at Wind. The store was still closed, so as we were planning to go somewhere else, my new landlord called me asking to go get the keys with him. We did, and Mx approved my choice for my new place =] We took the bus to his place after, so that we could see Janis and use his help to move all my stuff. There wasn't enough space on his car for 3 seats when it's on "moving mode", so I had to go by subway while they took the highway. They dropped a couch that Mx gave me as a gift (^^) at my new place, then they joined me at my old place, where I was getting things ready to move. I don't have a lot of stuff, but it was still a big hassle to get everything ready. I left behind an old table on top of which I used to put my old computer, so I hope someone finds some use for it. Once more I took the subway while they took the highway, but still I got there before them - Caribana weekend made the traffic nearly chaotic. We started unpacking stuff when they got there, and we left many things for later, as we needed to go to Ikea to buy some new things. Mx enjoys this "process" very much, so it was fun to buy nice little things for my new place. I spent almost all I could on my credit card, and we still had some things to buy. We stopped at Canadian Tire before going home, and then at Food Basics. I'm very glad I could use the help of Mx and Janis that day, because otherwise it would be impossible to do everything in one day. Mx made me organize most of my stuff before we could rest, but it was totally worth it - when we finished, my new placed seemed so amazing that we both fainted as we went to bed.

Sunday is the only day of the week that I am allowed to use the laundry machines, so I had to wash all of my stuff on my first day at my new place. The smell of my old place was impregnated on my clothes, so I really had to wash everything. It took me the whole morning, and part of the afternoon to do that, but I finally completed everything as Mx was coming back from the gym. He noticed that I was getting sick, so he started taking care of me to make me feel better.

Monday was the civic holiday, so I could stay home to recover from my illness. Mx took care of everything, so all I needed to do that day was take all my old clothes that I cannot use anymore (according to Mx standards =P) and dropped them into a donation box. We got back home, and after chilling out watching cable TV and funny websites, we went to bed.

Tuesday I was still sick, so I called in sick at work and stayed home recovering. At one point I went to Food Basics with Mx to buy some groceries and lots of herbs and medicine to help us heal (because obviously he got sick too), and then we went home to cook and eat. In the evening we went for a quick run around my neighbourhood, and once we got home we took a bath and went to bed.

Wednesday I finally went to work, even though I wasn't yet 100%. For the first time I could have lunch at home, so that's what I did. I ate the leftovers from one of the lunches I cooked with Mx, and I took some pills to make me feel better. Now I'm back at the office editing this post, and I assume that later today I'll just go to Service Ontario to drop my OHIP application, and then watch Inception at the Rainbow Cinema with Mx. =]

SeeYa,
Feliploko, who's in his new place =]
