If ifs and buts were candies and nuts we'd all have a merry Christmas

I would definitely like to have more than one post per month, but for some reason I still didn't recover my urges to post. It's becoming customary for me to say something like that as a first sentence of my post, have you noticed? Anyway, January was a nice month: the new year, my birthday, some resolutions, and the beginning of a debt-free era.

I spent the last hours of 2010 with my dear friend Zulema again. The two of us, plus Mareks and her friend Jessica, went to the Beaver for a quiet reveillon. On our way there, Mareks and I found souvenirs from the CN Tower on the subway, and later an old cellphone on the streetcar. That sounds so much like a higher force sending via expedited mail the outstanding balance of the year, doesn't it? But we are nice guys and we tried to return the phone to its owner, which wasn't possible since all his contacts were drunk - we then took the phone to the TTC lost-and-found department.

The new year marked my vegetarian anniversary, and I feel great maintaining my new eating habits. The only thing that is left to change is giving up dairy and fish, but Mareks is a big fan of seafood and sushi, which makes it kind of hard. As a new year resolution, we got a membership to a nearby gym that despite being expensive, has everything we could ask for. We started going several times a week, and while he exercises upstairs, I swim downstairs. Soon we'll buy squash racquets and start playing.

My birthday wasn't very exciting this year. I didn't plan anything, nor did my friends. I simply got home from work and went for an expensive Sushi with Mareks. I could have done something the following weekend, but lately I haven't been in the mood for going out. I really wonder if I'll ever explode for taming down my youthful instincts because of my relationship - not that I am very fond of partying and drinking anymore, but maybe I didn't have enough of that in my life yet.

Last year I finished watching all the released seasons of The Big Bang Theory, so now I started watching Dexter. So far, so good =] I am moving very slowly through my pile of readings, being currently stuck on Life of Pi right now. Most of the movies for this Oscar season were already watched, and I wish we had a greater number of good picks to choose from this time. Eurovision is coming up later this year, but I'm already excited about it. This is probably the end of the post, so let's finish it without further due.

SeeYa,
Feliploko, who's a neat monster.
